Autumn, time of warm and intense colors in nature and our gardens. It’s the time for red, gold and plenty of berries. This is a selection of plants that will make your garden even more ready for the great colors of autumn.

Berberis thunbergii, red leaves and yellow golden flowers in spring and red berries in autumn. The berries and the leaves give great color to your autumn-border. For a long time this shrub was only used in public spaces but lately Berberis has become a favourite plant for designers of the natural garden. Great for hedges and also as solitary plant. ‘Atropurpurea’ has dark grey and purple leaves. This beautiful shrub can grow up to 2 meter.

Red fruit appears in autumn on this Photinia villosa. The leaves turn orange/red in autumn before it drops. Photinia villosa can reach 2,5 meters high. A juwel for the autumn garden.

This famous Cotinus coggygria is beatiful inflorescence and in autumn when the colors turn into flamming orange/red and red/purple .

Celastrus orbiculatus ia fast climber wich can reach a height of more then 10 meters. When the yellow fruits pop open red seeds appear to show. ‘Diana’ is the female variety and don’t forget to plant a male variety as well like ‘Hercules’.

Cimicifuga ‘Queen of Sheba’ is a new plant. Beautiful red leaves for our autumn flame border. Cimicifuga has small light pink flowers.

Tropaeolum hybrids are fast growing annuals and can be used as groundcover or climber. Flowers can be yellow,orange/red a great autumn addition for your border blooms from august until october.
Dahlia ‘Arabian night’ a pompon-flowering variety with beautiful dark red flowers . Dahlia’s are making a come-back in the garden and can also be used in naturalistic designs.
Sanguisorba officinalis is a decorative perannual plant. Sometimes they are also named as Poterium it’s an easy plant suitable in many garden designs and a great addition for the naturalistic border. One of the favorites of Landscape-Designer Piet Oudolf.

Nicotiana x sanderae ‘Crimson Bedder’ is a popular addition to the flame-border with it’s dark red flowers from july – october. Can reach a height of 75 cm.

Rosa ‘Dortmund’ is one of many roses wich are a great addition for the autumn garden and not on last place for the rosehips.

A shrub can’t be missed for our autumn selection, Hypericum. This strong shrub has many small yellow flowers and red berries/seeds in autumn. For naturalistic planting-designs it’s a good thing to cut back shrubs every one or two years to keep them full and compact.
