Mediterranean Interior Garden Wageningen, The Netherlands.

The office building of Alterra in Wageningen,The Netherlands has two gardens ( 2000 m2 ) inside the building. The garden help with the buildings climate-control and create a better environment to the people working in this building. All the rooms are connected to the garden for optimal benefits.

The design for the interior gardens is Mediterranean and all the plants are chosen within this theme . Not any of the plants need frost to bloom and are planted in a mixture of clay/lava .

The gardens are designed by Copijn Tuin- en Landschaps Architecten in association with artist Singer from the United States.

The garden has an Automatic Watering-system , rain is collected in a Rain Harvesting Bassin. The garden is realized in 1998 , the client is the Dutch Goverment Building Services./source
